Loki Mid-Season Trailer: Hints of Little Asgard?
Loki’s Army stans, you’re savior is here with a fresh Loki sneak peak! On Monday, June 28th, 2021, the Loki mid-season trailer was released, hinting at some exciting Easter eggs to look for in episode four.
If you haven’t had a chance to see all three episodes of Loki that are already released on Disney+ and want to avoid spoilers, then do not watch this trailer! For members of Loki’s Army who are up-to-date on the season, check it out below:
Loki Mid-Season Trailer
The first half of the Loki mid-season trailer is essentially a recap of the show’s first three episodes, focusing on the significant world ending events we’ve already seen in the series thus far. In the trailer, we see Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) visiting Pompeii, Loki encountering Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) at the Roxxcart Disaster of 2050, and Loki and Sylvie on the doomed planet Lamentis-1.
Perhaps most intriguingly, one of the scenes we’ve already seen that appears in the trailer is the one set in Salina, Oklahoma in 1858, which we saw at the end of Loki episode one. The setup involves the Minutemen arriving and finding an anachronistic shovel… but they are soon overtaken by Sylvie.
However, with time travel in play, it’s possible that we may end up seeing the setup for this scene in the last three episodes of Loki.
Who brought the future shovel to mid-19th century Oklahoma? Was it just bait for Sylvie’s trap, or is there a more significant reason the memorable tool appears in this scene and again in the mid-season trailer?
New Scenes Incoming
In addition to these previously-seen scenes in the Loki mid-season trailer, we also get a taste of what’s to come.
For one thing, it seems as though the TVA will indeed arrive on Lamentis-1 to rescue Loki and Sylvie before they are killed in the apocalyptic disaster. We see both of them back at the TVA in custody, with Loki complaining that Sylvie has more guards than he does.
We also see what appears to be a young Sylvie being subjected to intake by the TVA, suggesting we’ll get more of the enigmatic character’s backstory in the next few episodes.
Young Sylvie will be played by Cailey Fleming, who also appeared as Young Rey in Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker and Judith in The Walking Dead.
And finally, there’s a scene that seems to show a Midgardian battleship with historical significance, the USS Eldrige (the subject of one of the creepiest military urban legends about a disappearing battleship and mysterious illnesses), falling onto dry land. Not so sure what a disappeared military battleship has to do with Loki, Marvel Blog True Believers, but I have some guesses and it should be a heck of a setpiece!
