VENOM 2: ‘Last One Standing’ from Skylar Grey feat. Polo G, Mozzy & Eminem
In an article posted to NME on Thursday, September 30th, 2021, the details about the latest single from Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage, titled “Last One Standing” from frequent Marshall Mathers collaborator Skylar Grey, featuring Eminem, Polo G, and Mozzy, were announced.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage Soundtrack Listing
The soundtrack for Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage is mostly orchestral, featuring music by Marco Beltrami, the composer for the sequel. This creates a similar situation as the one surrounding the first movie’s soundtrack.
That’s because Eminem was also behind a song on the soundtrack for the first Venom movie, “Venom.” In fact, here Eminem is performing “Venom,” which was featured on the performer’s surprise 10th studio album Kamikaze, from the Empire State Building on Jimmy Kimmel Live on October 15, 2018.
While this song was featured in the film, it was not on the movie’s soundtrack, which included orchestral music by Disney-friendly composer Ludwig Göransson, who got his start in the film and television industry on one of my favorite sitcoms of all-time, Community.
Learn about Göransson’s process for writing Eddie’s theme (which did not carry over to the sequel, read about Beltrami’s new character themes in this Nerdist interview) in the video below:
Eminem in the Marvel Universe
This is not the first time Eminem has come into contact with the Marvel multiverse!
Eminem appeared in the panels of the Marvel Comics multiverse thanks to Eminem/The Punisher #1 (2009) by Frank Van Lente, Salvador Larroca, Frank D’Armata, Joe Caramagna, and Cory Petit.
And more recently, Eminem was one of the celebrities who received an invitation to the Hellfire Gala on Krakoa, along with Paul Rosenberg, CEO of Def Jam Records.

Venom 2
Venom 2 was directed by Andy Serkis (who performed motion capture for 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron and appeared on-screen in that movie and 2018’s Black Panther as Ulysses Klaue.
The movie stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, the host for the Venom symbiote, with Woody Harrelson reprising the role of Cletus Kasady.
