Jessica Jones Almost Appeared in a Recent Marvel Series (And It’s NOT ‘Daredevil: Born Again’)

With Brad Winderbaum’s revelation that Marvel is “exploring” the possibility of bringing back Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage, fans have newfound hope that they will see their favorite Defenders again.

While it looks like Daredevil: Born Again will be the avenue through which the Defenders are reintroduced, it turns out that one fan-favorite character almost made their return in a completely different medium.

Here is the story.

A Teenage Jessica Jones?

In a new interview with ComicBook, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man showrunner Jeff Trammell revealed that Jessica Jones was once being considered for the series. In fact, according to Trammell, Jones was almost Peter Park’s classmate.

By the sound of things, she would have played the role that eventually went to Nico Minoru.

While Jones is traditionally depicted as an adult, Trammell and his team had plans to de-age the character.

“In terms of who Peter’s classmate was almost going to be, we had a lot of conversation about, de-aging, Jessica Jones and using her in that spot,” the showrunner explained.

Krysten Ritter Could Have Returned

Had Jones been included in the series, it would have been interesting to see if Marvel tapped Krysten Ritter to voice the character.  After all, Charlie Cox voices Daredevil in the series.

Ultimately, Trammell and his team decided to include Runaways member Minoru, which makes more sense. Nevertheless, the possibility of Jessica Jones teaming up with Peter Parker is tantalizing what if?
