‘The Fantastic Four’ Star Paul Walter Hauser Shares His Assessment of the Movie
Thanks to Letterboxd, Marvel fans have been given insight into what Marvel stars think about the individual MCU movies.
Perhaps most famously, Iman Vellani has openly reviewed numerous Marvel films, including Deadpool & Wolverine (four stars), Thunderbolts* (“Five emotionally constipated dmisfits are forced into trauma bonding under the watchful eye of a morally bankrupt authority figure and-oh, um, hey, so this is the breakfast club in tactical gear. I live.”), and Captain Marvel (two stars).

Now, however, another Marvel star has weighed in, reviewing a film in which they starred!

Awarding The Fantastic Four 3.5 out of 5 stars, Hauser lauded much of the production.
“I love the score, the production design, the performances,” he said.

There was, however, one problem with the film in his opinion.
“I wish they hadn’t cut my scene with Vanessa Kirby, but I’m stoked that I got to be in a Marvel movie (first world problem sh*t; I’m spoiled rotten to get to act).”
Vanessa Kirby Has Referenced the Deleted Scene
After The Fantastic Four hit theaters, director Matt Shakman made it clear that some difficult cuts had to be made in the film’s final days. One scene that was left out involved a meeting between Mole Man and Sue Storm in Subterranea.

“I’m gutted about it. I had a scene with Mole Man going down into his… In the very beginning of the movie, Sue goes and kind of kicks back and has a drink with him. Well, she can’t because she’s pregnant, but he pours her water, and she wishes it was whiskey. I just loved it. I loved it. It was so fun to shoot. We went into the mines all the way up the north of England to shoot it,” Vanessa Kirby explained.
“It just represented Sue’s working life and the fact that she interacts with all these supervillains and is easy with them. She sees eye to eye and is emotionally in tune with them, and I love that. But there just wasn’t time. So, maybe the sequel.”
Based on Hauser’s review, it seems the actor agrees with Kirby’s assessment.
