Marvin Jones III Will Play Tombstone in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’
After decades of waiting, Spider-Man fans are finally going to see Peter Parker square off with Tombstone when Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits theaters next year.
While production on the fourth installment in the MCU Spider-Man franchise is currently paused after Tom Holland suffered a concussion on set, the film is still coming together.

Today, Deadline reported that Marvin Jones III has been cast as Tombstone in the upcoming film, which will also see the return of Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher.
Tombstone Has Been an Animation Staple
While Brand New Day will mark the first time that Tombstone will appear in live-action, Jones voiced the character in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Additionally, Lonnie Lincoln played a pivotal role in Marvel Animation’s Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, though that version of the character was a high school student, not a middle-aged crime boss.

Who Is Tombstone?
Tombstone, whose real name is Lonnie Lincoln, first appeared in Web of Spider-Man #36 (1988) and was created by Gerry Conway and Alex Saviuk. Born in Harlem with albinism, Lincoln was bullied as a child but grew into an imposing figure who used his size and ruthlessness to dominate others.
He became a feared enforcer and eventually a hitman for New York’s criminal underworld. His hardened skin, sharpened teeth, and relentless brutality earned him the nickname “Tombstone,” and he quickly built a reputation as one of the most dangerous mobsters in the city.
In the comics, Tombstone often squares off with Daredevil, Spider-Man, Punisher, and other street-level heroes.
While it is unlikely that Tombstone will be the main antagonist in Brand New Day, it will be exciting to finally see the character in action.
The film will hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
