X-Men ’97 Gets a Summer 2026 Release Window
Just days after announcing that X-Men ’97 would release new seasons on a yearly basis, Marvel Animation took to New York Comic-Con to preview Season 2 of the fan-favorite series.
As expected, Season 2 of X-Men ’97 will not hit Disney+ until 2026. Now, however, we can report that the series will officially return next summer.

The Season 2 Trailer Was Previewed
In addition to learning the release window, fans in attendance at New York Comic Con also got ot see a trailer for the upcoming season of X-Men ’97.

In the clip, the X-Men were shown scattered across time by the evil Apocalypse.
The last time we saw the iconic team of mutants, Cyclops and Jean Grey were stuck in the year 3960 A.D.

Professor Xavier, Magneto, Nightcrawler, Beast, and Rouge, on the other hand, found themselves in 3000 B.C.
‘X-Men: The Animated Series’ Creatives Join ‘X-Men ’97’
In addition to previewing the upcoming season of X-Men ’97, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s Head of Animation, also announced that X-Men: The Animated Series writers Eric and Julia Lewald, and director Larry Houston have joined the show’s creative team as executive producers.

By the time X-Men ’97 returns next summer, it will have been more than two years since the show’s first season. The good news for fans is that this is the longest we should have to wait between seasons moving forward.
X-Men ’97 will stream on Disney+ in Summer 2026.
