Jeremy Renner Reveals the Status of Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
One of the biggest questions leading up to the events of Avengers: Doomsday is the status of Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye.
A constant presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Hawkeye has suited up for every previous Avengers adventure.

The last time we saw him, he had taken down the Tracksuit Mafia in New York and was mentoring Kate Bishop.
While it has long been assumed that Hawkeye would return for Doomsday, Renner’s name was part of Marvel’s grand cast reveal for the film.

Nevertheless, fans have continued to hold out hope.
Where Is Hawkeye?
During a recent interview with ComicBook’s Chris Killian, Renner was asked about the current status of Hawkeye in the MCU.

Reflecting on the question, Renner answered that Hawkeye is probably retired, at least until he is pulled into action again.
“I think he started retired… but he’s always pulled out of retirement, you know. I think he’s a family man; you always know where his allegiance lies, and he’s always come out of retirement, man. Until he’s killed, he’s always gonna be working.”

Will Renner Suit Up?
While Marvel has yet to make anything official, it is hard to imagine that we won’t see Hawkeye suit up for Avengers: Doomsday.

There is the chance, however, that Hawkeye will be retired during the events of the film, only to be pulled out of retirement for Avengers: Secret Wars.
For now, we will have to wait and see.
