‘Deadpool 4’ Gets a VERY Exciting Update
Despite the historic success of Deadpool & Wolverine, Marvel has been noticeably mum about the future of the film’s two stars.
As the third installment in the Deadpool franchise successfully brought both Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth and Hugh Jackman’s iconic X-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the prevailing assumption was that the heroes would suit up again sooner rather than later.

When the Avengers: Doomsday cast reveal omitted both stars, however, fans began to wonder if the future of the franchise was as secure as they had thought.
Subsequently, Shawn Levy admitted that he had begun thinking about Deadpool 4. Nevertheless, neither Reynolds nor Marvel publicly committed to the possibility.

Now, however, it sounds like things may be moving forward.
‘Deadpool 4’ Will Be the Next Ryan Reynolds Film
According to Puck, Ryan Reynolds is eager to play Deadpool again in the wake of his wife Blake Lively’s very public legal battle with director Justin Baldoni.

As explained in the report, Reynolds is now focused on developing Deadpool 4 as his next film.
If Deadpool 4 is indeed being fast-tracked, it would mark a notable shift for both Reynolds and Marvel.

Previous reports had indicated that Marvel felt “no sense of urgency” in developing Deadpool 4, as the studio’s attention was focused on Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday.
Reynolds, for his part, had previously suggested that Deadpool might work better as part of a larger ensemble.
“I have some pitches and ideas, but none of them center on Deadpool,” Reynolds said.

“He is a great supporting or ensemble player. And I would always want Deadpool and Wolverine to be paired in some way. Centering Deadpool works best if you take everything away from him and put his back against the wall. I can’t really do that again. A fourth time feels a little iterative and redundant. That doesn’t mean sacrificing fun. There is still an arc for Deadpool, which is fulfilling and powerful.”
What Fans Can Expect
Whether or not Deadpool 4 truly becomes Reynolds’ next project, it feels increasingly likely that we will see him suit up again soon.

With both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon, it would be hard to imagine Marvel bringing the multiverse together without including Deadpool and Wolverine.
