‘Wonder Man’ Creator Defends Show’s Release Strategy
Ahead of the release of Wonder Man, the prevailing notion was that Marvel wanted to dump the series quickly and move on.
This narrative stemmed from numerous sources, starting with the decision to release all episodes of the series at once.

Additionally, Wonder Man had an extended production that was delayed numerous times. At one point, it even seemed Disney would shelve the show before it debuted.
Eventually, however, Wonder Man did make it to streaming. Subsequently, the series has been lauded as one of Marvel’s best shows in years.

Now, series creator Destin Daniel Cretton is going on the offensive against the notion that Marvel had no faith in the series.
Cretton Says Marvel “Loved” ‘Wonder Man’
During a recent appearance on Majic 102.1 (via MovieWeb), Cretton was adamant that Wonder Man was released all at once because that was the best strategy for the series.

“If Marvel didn’t care about this show, it wouldn’t be out in the world at all. And it definitely would not be out in the world in the form that it is,” he said.
“Everybody from Kevin [Feige] on down really loved the tone of the show and loved that it was different, and loved pushing limits. And everybody here loves movies, and that’s what the show is really about.”
All Press Is Good Press?
While Cretton took umbrage with some of the narratives floating around Wonder Man, he did admit that he appreciated fans’ enthusiasm for the series.

“So yeah, the internet likes to make up stories and narratives. But I love the passion behind it because people just love the show and want more people to see it.”
Wonder Man is streaming now on Disney+.
