Chris Hemsworth Reflects Back on ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ – “
While 2022’s Thor: Love and Thunder was an undeniable box-office success, for many fans, it was also the film where Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder began to jump the shark.
In Thor: Ragnarok, Hemsworth and director Taika Waititi managed to infuse new life into the Thor franchise by giving the titular star a sense of humor.
Nevertheless, the film managed to walk a fine line between high-stakes adventure and comedy.

“It was kind of like a Monty Python sketch, and we took the piss probably a little much, then there was some backlash. There was this real kind of, ‘Why is he a goofball and why is it like this?’” he said on the Smartless podcast.
A Different Thor Is Coming
With Thor confirmed to be returning for both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, it sounds like Hemsworth has taken the criticism to heart and will turn in a different kind of performance this time around.

“Yeah, you get a taste from [the teaser]. That is a different tone than, I guess, what Love & Thunder was,” he said.
“And what I loved about my time in the MCU, I was able to, every couple of films, change the tone of the character. And some people find it a bit disruptive, but for my own artistic journey and adventure, it’s been a great blessing to be able to do that.”

Needless to say, it sounds like fans have every reason to be excited.
