Charles Soule Teases Boba Fett in Bounty Hunter Event
Marvel Comics revealed a first glimpse of the crossover with a Fett teaser, which was illustrated by War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 illustrator Steve McNiven and then posted on Twitter by War of the Bounty Hunters series writer Charles Soule:

The prelude to the crossover will begin on May 5th, when War of the Bounty Hunters Alpha #1 will be available. Then, throughout the month of May, the associated Star Wars comics titles – Star Wars, Star Wars Bounty Hunters, Darth Vader, and Doctor Aphra – will feature tie-in stories.
Finally, the five issue War of the Bounty Hunters miniseries will deliver the main event, taking readers on a journey through the back water planets of the Galactic Empire.
A Hunter’s Heart “Brief” Refresher Course
Curious about who the man under the green Mandalorian helmet might be? In addition to Episode V and Episode VI, Fett’s character also appeared in Episode II: Attack of the Clones. In the second chapter of the prequel trilogy, it was revealed that Boba was actually a clone of Jango, the warrior whose DNA served as the blueprint for the clone troopers of The Clone Wars.
Fett made an explosive return to the screen in the second season of The Mandalorian, currently available for streaming on Disney+. Spoilers for The Mandalorian season two ahead. If you haven’t finished it yet, don’t scroll past this picture of Grogu!
First, take note of the fact that The Mandalorian is set later on the timeline than War of the Bounty Hunters, taking place during the lengthy time-gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.
After making a surprise appearance at the end of the first episode of The Mandalorian’s second season, “Chapter 9: The Marshal,” Fett reappeared in “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” where – in an episode directed by the masterful Robert Rodriguez – he got to show off all of his bounty hunting skills!
I am truly humbled to say I have now had the very rare privilege of directing the biggest star in the universe. @StarWars #TheMandalorian #MayThe4th #StarWarsDay pic.twitter.com/pcmzOHfgaW

That wasn’t Fett’s last appearance in the season, but perhaps his most significant scene took place in “Chapter 16: The Rescue”: a mid-credits stringer that revealed he would be headlining his own Disney+ streaming series later this year, The Book of Boba Fett.
Get Ready to Celebrate May 5th with Boba
Marvel’s official announcement about the series describes the comic series as:
The notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett is on route to Tatooine to collect the massive bounty placed on Han Solo’s head by the fearsome crime lord Jabba the Hutt. But no one said it would be easy. The hunter becomes the hunted as pursuers from all corners of the galaxy set their sights on Boba and his precious cargo.
It’s all very exciting – but should you need something to occupy Baby Yoda as he breathlessly awaits The Book of Boba Fett, maybe consider some comic books about Jango Fett’s son! How about that War of the Bounty Hunters? Yes? Then, here are the five cover reveals for the series:
