SOMNUS Arrives in MARVEL’S VOICES: PRIDE #1!
A new character is coming to the panels of Marvel Comics, Marvel Blog True Believers, and you can get your first look at Somnus, a mutant and the newest superhero to make his debut in the pages of an anthology comic!
New Anthologies, New Characters
As you know if you have been closely following our comic book coverage here at Marvel Blog, one of the most exciting things about the Marvel Comics anthology books is that they sometimes serve as the introduction for brand-new characters who go on to have some very expansive adventures in the wider 616 (and beyond)!
While that can sometimes be unexpected, we already know that we’ll be meeting a brand-new hero in Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, thanks to an early report from Marvel!
Who Is Somnus?
Somnus is a brand-new character who was created by writer Steve Orlando and artist Luciano Vecchio. In his story in the Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 anthology, written by Orlando, the art will be executed by Claudia Aguierre, an Eisner-nominated artist who is making her Marvel Comics debut with this story.
According to the article on Marvel.com, Somnus has the ability to control the dreams of others, and he played an integral role in the history of one of the X-Men… but the specifics surrounding this situation still remain to be seen!
Suffice to say, something is afoot on Krakoa…
Dream a Dream of Somnus
If you’re interested to know more about Somnus, the best place to do so will be in the pages of Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, arriving at your local comic shop on June 23rd, 2021. In addition to a comic about Somnus, there are multiple other stories in the anthology issue, so you are sure to find something that interests you when the one-shot arrives at your LCS just in time for Pride Month!
