The Vitals #2 features three different nonfiction stories about paramedics! These stories are set during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, so expect to see the characters dealing with the realities of the virus, including wearing masks and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

It isn’t just the paramedics who are featured in these stories, we also see things from the perspectives of the patients.
In the second story, “Alone in a Storm,” Rose, a person who has COVID-19, is being medically evacuated by helicopter during a storm.

In this free-to-read webcomic, we also see how the people around the heroes are affected by their duties during the pandemic.
For example, in the third story, “Love, Mom,” we see the young daughter of a paramedic dealing with the quarantine aspects of keeping the family safe while working in the medical field at the height of COVID-19.

Through these three stories, readers can see the personal face of the COVID-19 pandemic that has been playing out on our television screens and social media feeds over the past fifteen months.
