Zach Braff Commissions Florence Pugh Portrait!
In a post to Instagram, it was revealed by Scrubs alum Zach Braff that the actor commissioned Marvel Comics artist Phil Noto to create a portrait of his girlfriend, Florence Pugh, as her Black Widow character, Yelena Belova!
The most devoted Marvel Blog True Believers may recognize Noto’s name, and there’s a very good reason for that: he is renowned for his arresting art, especially when it comes to actor likenesses. And as you might expect from all that, this portrait is the kind of thing that belongs in a museum!
Black Widow
Pugh makes her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Black Widow, which is currently playing in theaters and is available for streaming on Disney+ (with an additional charge for Premiere Access).
In spite of more than a year in delays thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it sounds as though Black Widow is in position to bring in some significant Box Office money!
By all accounts, Pugh steals the show with her performance at Belova, so it’s pretty easy to understand why Braff felt the need to commemorate her achievement!
Black Widow Has Been Framed
Because of the extensive delays to which Black Widow has been subjected, more traditional methods of generating press were exhausted around July of last year. As a result, we have been treated to plenty of innovative marketing strategies for the movie.
In one example, Pugh appeared alongside her co-star Scarlett Johansson as their on-screen father figure, David Harbour, subjected them to a litany of dad jokes! And trust us, Marvel Blog True Believers, these jokes were widowmakers!
But eventually, it seems the conversation has made its way back to Black Widow being framed, given that Braff’s commissioned portrait is the just the latest subject of discussion relating to the movie.
And for maximum super spy fun, the other members of the cast and crew have gotten on-board the press train, as well, with a documentary about Black Widow’s stunt extraordinaire, Heidi Moneymaker, being released for streaming on ESPN+.
