Anthony Mackie Signs Captain America 4 Deal
In an article posted on Wednesday, August 18th, 2021, Deadline reported that Anthony Mackie has signed a deal to appear as Sam Wilson in Captain America 4.

We already had an idea that this headline was on the way, Marvel Blog True Believers: at the conclusion of the first season of Captain America and the Winter Soldier, the Disney+ streaming series written by Malcom Spellman, it was announced that a forthcoming fourth Captain America movie would feature Mackie’s Wilson in the eponymous role.

Now, we know for certain that Mackie will be picking up the shield again when the fourth Captain America movie arrives in theaters!
However, we still likely have A WHILE to wait until we get to see Mackie appear on the big screen once again: a director for the movie still hasn’t been announced, and you can forget about anything like plot details at this juncture.

That being said, there are plenty of Marvel Comics stories that feature Wilson’s Captain America which could be used for inspiration until the character comes to the big screen. For example, during the Secret Empire crossover event, Wilson went underground and helped those fighting back against the HYDRA regime as a rebellious freedom fighter.

Plus, in Sam Wilson: Captain America, which is available to read right now on the Marvel Unlimited app, he and Joaquín Torres (Danny Ramirez) work together. Could the character who first appeared in the first season of Captain America and the Winter Soldier be returning on the big screen? He was perfecting the old Falcon wings in that last episode, wasn’t he, Marvel Blog True Believers?
