Qi’ra Spotlighted in Upcoming Crimson Reign Comic!

In an interview with IGN, War of the Bounty Hunters writer Charles Soule revealed what’s next for Qi’ra, the character portrayed by Emilia Clarke in 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story: a five-issue miniseries called Crimson Reign, featuring Qi’ra in charge of the Crimson Dawn syndicate, with the first issue arriving at your local comic shop in November 2021.

Trilogy in a Trilogy

According to the interview with IGN, Soule has conceptualized this story as a trilogy, with War of the Bounty Hunters being part one and Crimson Reign being part two.

As for the precise way that War of the Bounty Hunters will connect to Crimson Reign, Soule promises that it will be clear by the time War of the Bounty Hunters #5 arrives in October.

“Everyone and everything is fair game,” said Soule, which tracks with one of my favorite things about the ongoing War of the Bounty Hunters event: the way that details from every corner of the Star Wars galaxy have been folded into the narrative.

Shadows of Shadows of the Empire

Like War of the Bounty Hunters, Crimson Reign will take place between Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Episode VI – The Return of the Jedi (although it remains to be seen whether or not the third entry in this trilogy will take place in that interim period, or if it will be something of a time jump – I’m just saying, I’d like to know what Qi’ra’s up to during The Mandalorian era, wouldn’t you).

However, it is not currently clear whether or not Crimson Reign will be a tie-in event like War of the Bounty Hunters. Either way, we’ll be covering it here at Marvel Blog, so stay tuned, Marvel Blog True Believers!
