VENOM 2 Rumored to be Further Delayed to 2022
In an article posted to IGN’s website yesterday, it was reported that multiple sources have suggested that Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage will be delayed again… to 2022. However, since then conflicting reports have surfaced most notably from Variety, and this media reporter is about ready to Scream with all this conflicting information coming in about the release date of her favorite Marvel/Sony anti-hero.
Venom 2’s History of Delay
Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage was originally scheduled for release in the United States in October 2020. However, like Black Widow, Eternals, and other Marvel movies that were originally scheduled for release in 2020, it was delayed due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the movie was rescheduled to September 2021. However, in early August, rumors began swirling that the movie would be delayed again – rumors which we reported on, Marvel Blog True Believers… Did I mention who my favorite anti-hero was?
Those rumors came to fruition just a few days later, when Venom 2 was officially delayed, this time until October 2021. But is it possible that Venom 2 will be further delayed? We don’t know if you’ve been keeping tabs on the Delta Variant of COVID-19, but let’s just say our Magic 8 Ball says, “Too Hard to See.”
Delta Squad
But one way or another, rumors are beginning to swirl that Venom 2 will be delayed again, this time until January 21st, 2021. Right now, that’s the date that Morbius, starring Jared Leto as the eponymous vampire, is slated to be released…
But two Marvel movies in one day? We don’t think so, Marvel Blog True Believers: if this delay does take place, we’re betting that Morbius is getting delayed, too (and it wouldn’t be the first time it got delayed, either).
Venom 2 in Theaters
Will you be heading to theaters to see Venom 2 (whenever it’s eventually released), Marvel Blog True Believers? What about Morbius? And will Sony Pictures be okay with releasing Spider-Man 3: No Way Home in theaters in December, even before they’ve released Venom 2?
There’s a whole lot to think about! Let us know what your theories about the state of the Marvel Cinematic Universe might be in the comment section.
