REVIEW: Drama Aboard the Falcon in Star Wars #18
In Star Wars #18 by Charles Soule, Ramon Rosanas, Rachelle Rosenberg, Clayton Cowles, and with a main cover by Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz, & Rain Beredo, we get to see what’s up next for the non-Carbonite frozen contingent of the Millennium Falcon’s heroic crew after The War of the Bounty Hunters… and they’re already dealing with Crimson Dawn again!
“Collision Course”
This story sees Qi’ra running into the Millennium Falcon shortly after the events of The War of the Bounty Hunters (because she instructed one of her Crimson Dawn agents to disable the Falcon’s hyperdrive, naturally).
I have to say that one of my very favorite parts of this issue was the way that the Falcon played into the story. There were many panels set in the cockpit of the Falcon, which – as someone who has visited Galaxy’s Edge – is basically a place that I have visited (ditto for the galley where the holochess table sits).
Do you know how cool it is to read a comic somewhere you have visited? Extremely cool! This issue had great interior and exterior ship stuff, so if you’re into that sort of thing, you’ll want to be sure and pick this one up.
I also loved the way this issue drew on the history of the characters who appear in it… particularly the relationships we saw unfold in Solo. While we may never get a big-screen sequel to this underrated Star Wars story, the characters live on in the comics… including the incredible L3-37!
