In a Tweet sent on Wednesday, December 22nd, 2021 – the same day that the first season finale of Hawkeye on Disney+ was released for streaming – Vincent D’Onofrio, who plays the role of Kingpin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, wished us all a Merry Fiskmas.

D’Onofrio was Quote Tweeting journalist Hector Navarro. Navarro had responded to an initial Tweet by D’Onofrio that will be of interest to Marvel Blog True Believers, as well: the Tweet included a thirty-second video clip that featured D’Onofrio singing the praises of the creative minds that brought Hawkeye to Disney+, and graciously thanking fans for waiting so long for the return of his character.

D’Onofrio first played the role of Wilson Fisk, A.K.A. the Kingpin, in the first season of Daredevil, the Marvel Television series on Netflix. The celebrated portrayal of the character earned D’Onofrio the eternal adoration of Marvel fans, as referenced by his initial video.

When Marvel Television was officially folded into Marvel Studios, the possibility of D’Onofrio appearing again on Netflix vanished. However, Fiskmas has come early for us this year, Marvel Blog True Believers, thanks to the surprise return of the character (as portrayed by D’Onofrio) in Hawkeye’s stellar first season.
