Hulk: Grand Design
As the most devoted of Marvel Blog True Believers will already be well aware, the Grand Design series allows a single cartoonist the chance to reinterpret years worth of Marvel Comics continuity into shorter, more cohesive narratives. This allows the entire story of a single character – in this instnace, the Hulk – to have their whole story retold through the eyes of a single creator. The first volume in the Hulk’s narrative, Hulk: Grand Design: Monster, will arrive on
Previously, Ed Piskor, who appears alongside Rugg on the popular YouTube series Comic Book Kayfabe, contributed to several volumes worth of X-Men: Grand Design, and Tom Scioli was behind the previously released Fantastic Four: Grand Design.
Now, the first volume of Hulk: Grand Design, which will be subtitled Monster, is arriving in March 2022, and it’s bringing a trio of variants along with it.
Not only will there be the main cover by Rugg, but there will also be a cover by Grand Design alum Piskor. This is a homage to The Incredible Hulk (1962) #340 by Todd MacFarlane and Bob Wiacek.
In addition, both Peach Momoko and Marcos Martin will be providing variant covers that pay homage to the green giant, as well.
