New X-Prose Novel from Aconyte: The Siege of X-41
In a post made to the official Marvel website on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, the next School of X prose novel was spotlighted. Written by Tristan Palmgren and with a cover illustrated by Christina Myrvold, this book will spotlight the Omega-level mutant, Elixir.
The Siege of X-41
In The Siege of X-41, Joshua Foley is a human who hates mutants. But when he generates mutant powers, becoming Elixir, he’ll have to reassess his situation… especially when the Reavers, the violent anti-mutant hate group he runs with, boots him for being a mutant!
However, in spite of his history, the X-Men offer Elixir sanctuary. Soon, he’s been dispatched on a deep-sea training mission with fellow mutants Anole, Triage, Graymalkin, Nature Girl, Crosta, and Karma. It would be bad enough to be surrounded by mutants who believe him to be the enemy…
And as if that weren’t enough, the team of young X-Men soon finds themselves under attack from a sea-monster worshipping vampire cult (as happens to us all from time to time). And on top of all this, a member of their team is soon sabotaging their attempts to call from help!
This is just the latest Marvel prose book being published by Aconyte, and the most recent in the Xavier’s Institute line of novels, which also includes entries like Triptych (about mutant Fantomex). Meanwhile, other Aconyte lines celebrate other elments of the Marvel Comics universe, like the Heroines line, which includes books like Elsa Bloodstone: Bequest.
Meanwhile, Elixir was first introduced in New Mutants (2003) #5 by Nunzio Defilippis, Christina Weir, Mark A. Robinson, Aaron Sowd, Wayne Faucher, Scott Elmer, Ian Hannin, and Rus Wooton.
