The 7 Most Marvelous Creators of 2021
2021 has been quite a year, Marvel Blog True Believers! From the arrival of WandaVision, the inaugural Marvel Cinematic Universe series on Disney+, in January, to the arrival of Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1 in June, all the way up to the release of one of the biggest movies of all time, Spider-Man: No Way Home, just a few weeks ago in December, it’s been twelve straight months of Marvelous releases. But what about the Marvelous creators behind these stories?
Naturally, everyone knows that Marvel Studios Head-Boss-in-Charge Kevin Feige deserves to be lauded for his leadership. But today, Marvel Blog is honoring seven of the other creators who contribute to the magic of the many different areas of the mighty Marvel multiverse!

VFX Teams
When you sit down to watch a MCU show or movie, you may not stop to think about the many different VFX Teams who contribute to the story you are watching on screen. However, everything from the in-universe tech displays to the opening and closing credits look so Marvelous thanks to the efforts of many different VFX Teams! You may have noticed that multiple VFX Teams appear in the credits before you get your post-credits scene. That’s because it takes a lot of people to make the MCU look so good! Hats off to these tireless warriors!

Natalie Holt
There was plenty to remember about Loki on Disney+, but one element that was really outstanding was the soundtrack. This was thanks to Natalie Holt, who created some fantastic themes for the series. Fun Fact: Holt once threw an egg at Simon Cowell, which proves she has the perfect energy for scoring a show about the God of Mischief.
-
Steve Orlando
Back in early March 2020, we were eagerly anticipating the arrival of Darkhold Alpha #1, starring the Scarlet Witch! Sadly, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic meant we would have to wait more than a year for the issue to be released. Fortunately, when it did arrive, it fulfilled every expectation we have! We’re lucky that writer Steve Orlando will be working on more Marvel Comics titles in the new year.
-
Sarah Brunstad
Editor Sarah Brunstad was responsible for editing Marvel’s Voices: Pride #1, a comics anthology that features many of the queer characters and creators who appear in and contribute to Marvel Comics! This was one of my favorite issues of the year (spoilers for Marvel Blog’s upcoming Best Marvel Comics of 2021 List), and that earns Brunstad a place on this list!
-
Virtual Calligraphy
The letterers who work for Marvel Comics are united under the banner of “Virtual Calligraphy” (sometimes shortened to “VC”). These Marvelous creators are responsible for one of the most important parts of a comic: the words you read on the page!
-
Victoria Alonso
Executive Producer Victoria Alonso has been involved in the MCU since the very first entry: 2008’s Iron Man! This year, Alonso’s tireless efforts have been recognized, as she was promoted, and will now carry the title of president, physical and postproduction, visual effects, and animation production for Marvel Studios. Excelsior!

Avengers Campus Employees
If you’ve had a chance to visit Disney California Adventure in 2021, you probably made sure you got the opportunity to see Avengers Campus, which just opened this year! This new addition to the Happiest Place on Earth is only possible thanks to the exhaustive efforts of the Cast Members who work day and night to make Avengers Campus a safe and exciting experience. If you get the chance to visit sometime soon, Marvel Blog True Believers, please make sure you tell them “thanks” for us!
