Fondly Remembering Betty White
Last weekend Hollywood lost one of its most loveable icons. White was an absolute legend, adored by many.
Whether you watched her almost decade long run on The Golden Girls, 5 seasons of Hot in Cleveland, or perhaps one of her over 100 different appearances and roles in various media, many of us can find ourselves fondly remembering Betty White.
One of those fans is the new Captain America himself Sam Wilson actor Anthony Mackie who once recounted a flirtatious New York meeting between the two. Last year during an interview with Jimmy Fallon, Mackie first gushed enthusiastically about White stating:
“Betty White is one of the most talented women, She had her own talk show, she was a professional dancer, actress—she was amazing. Those four women were amazing.”
Mackie would continue to detail a chance meeting the two had while both were in New York.
“I was in New York at this event, and she was there, and I fanboy’d out and ran up to her and was like, ‘Oh, my god, I love you so much! I’m such a fan. Like, the episode when you were tap-dancing was so beautiful,’”
The ever-playful White responded coyly:
“So she laughed and touched my face, and she says, ‘Oh, you make me wish I was 40 years younger.’”
While slightly taken aback, The Falcon was not disturbed in the slightest and proceeded to reciprocate the sentiment given by White:
“And I was like … I would do that, I would do that.”
A teasingly amorous interaction between a legendary Golden Girl and an Avenger, who may have taken the celeb couple news mill by storm in another parallel universe.
Fondly remembering Betty White is an easy task to accomplish. Few Hollywood stars have the capability to draw people in, to make them laugh, and to make audiences truly enjoy the entertainment they are viewing. Betty White was most certainly.
Echoing Tony Stark’s lamentation in the beginning of Avenger’s: Endgame “Part of the Journey is the End”
You will be missed dearly Betty White, and always Fondly Remembered.
