‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ Trailer Features a Change to the Cloak of Levitation
Primed to be the most anticipated film of 2022 thus far, it appears as though it changed one of its most underrated characters as the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer features a change to the Cloak of Levitation.
Spider-Man: No Way Home was the movie event of the year and gave fans one of the most incredible comic book adaptations in the history of the MCU.
Refocusing the entire Marvel Universe on the threat that is the unraveling multiverse, it appears as though the ramifications of the film will be felt for the rest of Marvel’s lauded Phase Four.
One of the direct projects poised to be most impacted by the events is none other than the latest installment of Doctor Stranges MCU saga.
With the trailer dropping, we caught an interesting look at one of the film’s most underrated characters looking very different, as the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness trailer features a change to the Cloak of Levitation.
What is an interesting character in itself is none other than the Cloak of Levitation, the cape-looking accessory that is wielded by the former sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Strange, since his debut in 2016s self-titled Doctor Strange.

In a scene that appears to show Doctor Strange about to walk through a portal into an unraveling alternate reality, we see a quick glimpse of the cloak on his back.
It appears as though the back of the Cloak is patched up, with the different color clothe put there to repair a clearly ripped portion of the cloak; protecting a giant hole in its center.
We’re uncertain as to where the whole came from, but acknowledge that it wasn’t present in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and should be explained early on in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
A fan favorite, the Cloak has become a character in his own right, taking agency of its actions numerous to protect Doctor Strange and others.
