X-Men Vote… But No Pool??
The final member of the new X-Men team will be decided by a vote, and you can participate by clicking this link and selecting your favorite from the options. There are some rules that you have to follow, like only one vote per person, but Marvel promises that the fan vote will determine who the newest X-Man will prove to be.
However, let’s get this out of the way first: obviously, Gwen Poole self-retconned herself into being a mutant in the 2019 Gwenpool Strikes Back five-issue miniseries by Leah Williams, David Baldeón, Jesus Aburtov, Guru-eFX, and Joe Caramagna, with covers by Terry Dodson & Rachel Dodson (issues 1 – 4) and Elena Strikes & Judith Stephens (issue 5).
We all remember that, of course. So why isn’t she on the ballot?
\Worse still, there’s no write-in option. Ridiculous! Who wouldn’t want Jeff the Landshark as the “first pet” of Krakoa? Let’s hope that Gwenpool makes it onto the ballot in 2023… I suppose in the meantime, I can figure out how to cast more than one vote in order to prepare.
In the meantime, Marvel has released posters and campaign summaries for the mutants who have received nominations: Armor, Avalanche, Bling!, Firestar, Gentle, Gorgon, Micromax, Penance, Siryn, and Surge.
Polls are Open Now
The polls for the annual X-Men vote are open now, and will be open until Thursday, January 13th, 2022 at 11:59 PM EST. Did you get a chance to vote, Marvel Blog True Believers? Who do you hope wins? How likely do you think it is that Gwenpool will appear next year?
