Sony Reveals Final Trailer for ‘Morbius’ Showing Off More Adrian Toomes
With the long-awaited release just a month away, Sony has unveiled the final trailer for Morbius, and in the meantime, showed off some more footage of Michael Keaton’s return as Adrian Toomes.
After the massive success that was Spider-Man: No Way Home, many fans asked one of the most pressing questions regarding both Sony and Marvel moving forward; whats next?
For Marvel and the MCU, it was the exploration into the continually deteriorating multiverse in the highly anticipated sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness; a film that will pick up right where the last Spider-Man film left off.
For Sony, it was the continued development of their very own Spider-Man universe, with the eventual debut of the film centered on one of the character’s most sympathetic villains.
With the film just a month away- following a string of delays- Sony has revealed the final trailer for Morbius and has given fans some new footage involving the return of Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes.
Fans last saw Toomes in the post-credit scene for Spider-Man: Homecoming, with the character imprisoned after his villainous acts as the entity known as The Vulture.
Morbius gave fans a hint of Keaton’s involvement in the film, and this final trailer showed that he may be more important than originally assumed.
There is plenty of uncertainly around just how Morbius, and Sony’s in-development film universe of Spider-Man characters- will relate to the MCU, and Tom Hollands’ version of the character; the continued exposure of Toomes, however, indicates that they may take place in the same universe.
With the announcement of Sony-led productions centered around both Kraven The Hunter and Madame Web starring Dakota Johnson, there was an overwhelming belief that Morbius and Venom would both be present in that Sony Universe over the MCU.
Spider-Man: No Way Home manipulated the timeline, and introduced the concept of alternate realities that could indicate the melding of the two universes.
Only time will tell, but we can’t wait to see how Morbius shakes out, and the role that Keaton’s Vulture will play in the upcoming Sony film; you can watch the Final Trailer Here!
