First Reactions for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ Promise a Hilarious and Heartfelt Adventure
It is a film that fans have been clamoring for since Thor: Ragnarok first hit theaters, promising what is easily the best director-star collaborative relationship that the MCU has to offer; we now have a better idea of what to expect, as first reactions for Thor: Love and THunder are here!
Chris Hemsworth’s Thor has had a long and winding road to being one of the most beloved heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it was orchestrated, in large part, due to the incredible creative vision of director Taika Waititit.
The two forces worked to reimagine just who Thor is, creating a character that is completely different- yet very similar- to the one that first burst on tot the scene prior to the Avengers adventure that catapulted the MCU into what it is today.
With this entry establishing the very first Avenger to get his fourth solo film, we now have a better idea of what to expect from this second outing from Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi, as the first reactions for Thor: Love and Thunder promise to deliver the unexpected style that fans have come to expect.
#ThorLoveAndThunder is @TaikaWaititi funky, colorful & epic ode to space rock operas that even delivers some heartfelt punches to the gut
Portman steals the show, Thompson is brilliant and Bale delivers a menacing and powerful performance as #Gorr while Hemsworth is at his best pic.twitter.com/MtZgZDhhGY

Pop culture site Geek Vibes Nation first spoke about how vibrant the film is, and how it truly does feel like a “space rock opera.”
What is so interesting about what Taika does in the film, however, is that he doesn’t define the story by visuals, as the Tweet continues by establishing how emotional and phenomena the performances are.
I saw #ThorLoveAndThunder. It can't quite match the visual or comedy bombast of Ragnarok, but Taika Waititi makes up for it with an emotionally mature Marvel movie. It's also very funny (Natalie's got jokes) and features one of the most stunning visual sequences in MCU history.

Inverse’s Jacob Kleinman also notes more of the same, praising the direction, and the performances; notably the return of Portman’s Jane Foster.
Although Kleinman notes that it may not hit the highs of Ragnarok, it delivers, “one of the most stunning visual sequences in MCU history.
#ThorLoveAndThunder is predictably hilarious yet unexpectedly personal and heartfelt. Christian Bale and Natalie Portman's performances truly shine while Waititi delivers an emotional story. I think this may be my favorite Thor movie. pic.twitter.com/i7BpmQHvQ1

The Direct’s Richard Nebens- one of the premier places to find Marvel news and updates- doubles down on the balancing act of both comedy and emotion.
The film’s reactions, thus far, seem to be pointing to the fact that it executes this balance tremendously well, and gives fans a memorable experience because of that balance.
Also, these two are the absolute best in this film. Give us a spin-off with just the adventures of Valkyrie and Mighty Thor! #ThorLoveAndThunder pic.twitter.com/0bRtGBhTge

Finally, Fandango’s Erik Davis perfectly encapsulates his opinion by stating that Thor: Love and Thunder was, “Everything I wanted it to be.”
