Anthony Mackie Demanded a New Captain America Suit For ‘Brave New World’
While Brave New World will not be the first time that Anthony Mackie suits up as Captain America, he will debut an all-new suit.
For those who don’t remember, Mackie’s Sam Wilson officially assumed the role of Captain America in The Falcon and the Winter series finale. In that series, Sam sported a new Captain America suit, complete with a white half-helmet and goggles.

As early trailers for Captain America: Brave New World have shown, Sam seems to have ditched the half-helmet look. So, what happened?
Mackie Demanded a New Costume
In a recent interview IGN, Anthony Mackie explained that he demanded a costume change for his next Captain America adventure.
“I told them that I was never wearing that [stuff] again, dude,” Mackie said. “That was hard. With the heat, the sweat, the fogged-up glasses, it was impossible. It was called a cowl. It was my worst nightmare. You can’t do anything.”

Sam will still don his goggles for Brave New World, but the half helmet is nowhere to be found.
