Charlie Cox Now Says He Will NOT Appear as Daredevil in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
Long before Marvel Studios unveiled the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, internet sleuths believed they had uncovered a secret about Charlie Cox’s involvement with the film.
Late last year, the Australian gym DFRNT Health & Fitness shared a photo of Cox and his wife, Sam, after a workout in their facility.
With Daredevil: Born Again still in production, it was not surprising that Cox was staying in shape. What was surprising was a revelation made in the photo’s caption.

“It’s been Awesome having Charlie and his wife, Sam Cox, in at DFRNT over the past few weeks!” the gym wrote.
“Charlie is currently training for his role in the upcoming @marvel Avengers movie where he will play @daredevil.”
Needless to say, the post was quickly deleted.
Cox’s Status Has Been Unclear
Despite the indication that Cox would suit up for Avengers: Doomsday, his name was not among those listed during Marvel’s cast reveal.

While Cox has made it clear that he would love to suit up on the big screen, it now doesn’t look like that will be the case.
Cox Says He Will Not Appear in ‘Doomsday’
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Cox was asked if he would appear in Doomsday.
“Nah … I’m not involved in that,” he dismissively said.

While Cox is now saying that he will not appear in the film, this would not be the first time that a Marvel actor has lied.
Rumors have continued to swirl that the studio will soon reveal another batch of stars suiting up for Doomsday. Perhaps, the actor’s name will come up then.

Obviously, things could change at any moment. For now, at least, it looks like Cox will be sticking to the small screen.
