New ‘Eyes of Wakanda’ Poster Introduces the Lion; Pays Homage to ‘Black Panther’
The last eighteen months have been an amazing time to be a Marvel animation fan.
In the aftermath of Disney’s purchase of Marvel, the studio largely stayed out of animation, instead focusing on blockbuster films and, eventually, streaming series.
However, the dam burst open with the debut of What If…? in 2021.

Based on what we know about the upcoming series, the character appears to be a Wakandan general known as the Lion. He will be voiced by Cress Williams.
In addition to introducing a new character to the MCU, the first Eyes of Wakanda poster pays homage to the original Black Panther poster.
