It Sounds Like New Asgard Will NOT Appear in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’
While we know that Avengers: Doomsday will see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes suiting up again to do battle with Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom, the plot of the upcoming Marvel cinematic event has been kept tightly under wraps.
Based on the film’s cast reveal, it is clear that Doomsday will bring the Marvel multiverse together, and perhaps deliver an adaptation of Avengers vs. X-Men. Additionally, the prevailing thought has been that the film will lay the groundwork for Avengers: Secret Wars, possibly even visiting the locales that will eventually comprise Battleworld.

Although the setting of Doomsday remains a mystery, we can at least rule out one location.
New Asgard Will Not Appear in ‘Doomsday’
In a recent interview with the Scottish Daily Express, Chris Hemsworth seemingly revealed that New Asgard will not appear in Avengers: Doomsday.

“Filming The Avengers in Scotland was a really cool experience. It doesn’t look like we are coming back for Doomsday. But I’d love to not only visit there again but to film and do more work in the country. The people are amazing,” he said.
What Is New Asgard?
For those who may not remember, New Agard was founded by the Asgardian refugees after their home planet was destroyed. In the MCU, the city-state is located in Tonsberg, Norway, which was visited by Asgardians in ancient times.

Behind the scenes, however, the New Asgard scenes were filmed in Scotland.
Based on Hemsworth’s comments, it does not seem like we will see New Asgard in Doomsday. This decision could also hint that characters like Valkyrie and Korg will not appear in the film.
