Sony Told Marvel To “Stay Away” From Miles Morales Until After the ‘Spider-Verse’ Franchise Ends
Since the release of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Marvel fans have been loudly calling for Miles Morales to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While Miles has long been a fan-favorite character in comic books, video games, and animation, he has yet to make his live-action debut. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, audiences are briefly introduced to Aaron Davis, aka Prowler, a known criminal and Miles’ uncle.
In the film, the existence of Miles Morales was alluded to when Davis told Spider-Man that he did not want the advanced weaponry sold by Adrian Toomes and his crew on the streets, as he had a nephew. Later, he tells Miles that he will be late getting home as Spider-Man has webbed him to his car.

Despite the popularity of Miles and Tom Holland advocating for him to appear in the MCU, Morales has not yet made an appearance.
Now, however, we finally know why.
Sony Told Marvel To “Stay Away”
In a longform interview with Variety and other outlets, Kevin Feige revealed that Sony will not allow Miles to appear in the MCU while the Spider-Verse franchise is still active.
“Sony has their brilliant, genius, incredible Spider-Verse animated franchise going, and until that finishes, we’ve been told to stay away,” Feige said.

With the third installment in the Spider-Verse franchise delayed until 2027, we will not see Miles Morales anytime soon. Nevertheless, Feige and his team are clearly aware of the character. Perhaps one day, we will see Miles swinging across New York City in live-action.
