‘Eyes of Wakanda’ Will Debut Earlier Than Initially Expected
Marvel fans will be able to watch Eyes of Wakanda sooner than expected, as Disney+ has moved the animated series’ release date up from August 27 to August 1.
For those who may not be caught up, Eyes of Wakanda is an animated series executive-produced by Ryan Coogler and set in Marvel’s Sacred Timeline.
The series will tell the story of Wakandan warriors who must venture out into the world and retrieve vibranium artifacts.

“Throughout Wakandan history, brave warriors have been tasked to travel the world retrieving dangerous vibranium artifacts. This is their story,” the official description reads.
The Story Begins in 1260 BC
On August 1, all four episodes of Eyes of Wakanda will be released simultaneously. Each installment in the series will transport audiences to a different time period, beginning in 1260 BC with the story of Noni, a prospective member of the Hatut Zeraze.

According to series creator Todd Harris, the goal of Eyes of Wakanda is to expand the world of the Black Panther franchise.
“My goal for the whole show was to do the thing that a movie has trouble doing, which is making the world bigger,” he explains to Entertainment Weekly. “It is a nation with multiple zip codes. It was mostly just expanding the backdrop of the world that Ryan [Coogler] was able to establish, with just a little bit more time and a few more opportunities at the watering hole. These things have been around for this long, really spreading out the mythology of Wakanda.”
