We Have Our First Official Look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom

While fans will have to wait until December 2026 for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes to assemble for Avengers: Doomsday, we are continuing to learn more and more about the film.

Just days after the Russo Brothers posted a cryptic image on Instagram, Disney unveiled promotional art of Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom.

The new artwork was presented at the Walt Disney Studios Marketing Expo in Shanghai, depicting Doom wearing a costume that should look familiar to the character’s fans.

As is tradition, the dictator is wearing gauntlets, chainmail, a belt, and his iconic mask.

Nevertheless, the new costume manages to put an MCU spin on the classic look. Interestingly, Doom’s armor seems to have magic properties, with various symbols decorating his torso.

Finally, Dooms mask appears to me more angular than some iterations of the character; it makes for a menacing look.

Downey’s Comments on Victor Von Doom

When Downey initially revealed that he would be returning to the MCU as Doctor Doom, the actor noted that the character’s complicated nature intrigued him.

“New mask, same task,” he said at the event. “What can I say, I like playing complicated characters.”

Based on everything we know, it sounds like the MCU is going to do Doom right.

While Marvel has yet to release official promo art of Doom to the public, it should only be a matter of time.

Hopefully, we will learn more about the MCU version of the character soon!
