‘Avengers: 5’ Would Have Seen the Young Avengers Take Down Kang
As fans eagerly await the return of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for next year’s Avengers: Doomsday, we are starting to learn more about Marvel’s original plans for a fifth Avengers film.
Long before Robert Downey Jr. announced that he was returning to the MCU to portray Doctor Doom, it was Jonathan Majors’ Kang who was set to serve as Marvel’s next big bad.

After establishing Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and two seasons of Loki, Kevin Feige and his team planned to bring the multiverse together. They intended to achieve this for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
Everything changed, however, when Majors was arrested and later convicted of domestic abuse. Suddenly, Marvel had to pivot, and Avengers: Doomsday was born.

Now, we have finally gotten a glimpse into what might have been.
Michael Waldron Reveals His Plan For ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty’
During a recent Reddit AMA, Marvel writer and producer Michael Waldron discussed the studio’s original plans for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
According to Waldron, who was tapped to write the film, The Kang Dynasty would have initially featured the Young Avengers jumping into action. They would defeat a Kang variant.
“Jeff Loveness and I spent an afternoon pitching on the Young Avengers defeating a version of Kang and being so stoked about it… only to discover that that particular Kang carried a little card that said to Be Patient with him, it was his first day as a Kang,” Waldron shared.

“And then they were so bummed. I think he was gonna be the lizard Kang from the end of Kang Dynasty? I don’t know. Anyway we had fun.”
Will We See the Young Avengers in ‘Doomsday’?
If you know anything about the Young Avengers comic book series, you know that the inexperienced team did manage to defeat a version of Kang in their first adventure.

The Avengers 5 sequence, then, would have made perfect sense.
Unfortunately, with Marvel’s pivot to Avengers: Doomsday, we will not have the opportunity to see the young heroes take down Kang.
Hopefully, however, we still see the formation of the iconic Young Avengers in the upcoming film.
