MarvelBlog News for November 30th, 2025
This past week, we learned that hair can change color, Hugh Jackman has a price, and Benedict Cumberbatch knows.
This is a chaotic week for MarvelBlog News.
You Don’t Say

When Sony confirmed the casting of Sadie Sink, a debate naturally ensued.
The co-star of Stranger Things is memorable for any number of reasons, but one trait stands out.

Sink has red hair, which means that the late Stan Lee would have loved her.
Lee always thought visually when he illustrated comic books, and so he had a type.

When he gave female characters red hair, they stood out in every image.
His technique worked as the equivalent of casting a spotlight on the women in the scene.

So, when we learned that Sink would appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, everyone made an assumption.
We all started debating which redheaded character Sink would play from the comics.

I readily admit that I fell guilty to this trap as well, as it’s a known thing in the Spider-Verse.
Let’s just say that Peter Parker *ahem* also had a type when he dated as well as when he fought female villains.

Several famous ones had red hair. Well, Sink has noticed all the online speculation.
Whether she’s trolling or not, the actress recently made some comments during a press tour.

We’re currently in the middle of the end of Stranger Things, midway through the final season.
As part of the publicity campaign, Sink spoke about her future plans and alluded to the rumors.

She cheekily stated, “A lot of people forget that hair color can change.”
Some other people involved with the production have quickly confirmed what she’s said.

In the process, they may have accidentally also confirmed something else about the character.
Rumors abound that Sink is playing some kind of shapeshifter in Spider-Man…and beyond.

Some folks are convinced that the actress will appear in at least one Avengers movie, if not more.
Speaking of Which…

We’ve got two other Avengers stories to cover, both of which tie into the Sink rumor.
As a reminder, Marvel’s YouTube channel once spent 12 hours revealing cast members.

Every 15-30 minutes, another casting chair would reveal a previously unannounced performer.
As far as viral videos go, this one was quite clever, and it achieved its primary goal.

Fans knew that many of their favorites would return for Avengers: Doomsday, which was a relief.
At one point, The Walt Disney Company, Marvel’s corporate owner, held a different philosophy.

Disney wanted to get out of the business of paying established actors lots of money.
The new plan called for the MCU to introduce entirely different, much cheaper performers.

And we all know how well that plan worked out for Disney. Marvel stopped being the goose that laid golden eggs.
So, that 12-hour video doubled as Disney’s apology tour. Now, everyone is declaring bygones.

Well, I should say “almost everyone.” A few famous Marvel performers didn’t get chairs.
As far as anyone knows, they’re not in the upcoming films, Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

One of them, Hugh Jackman, is HEAVILY rumored to appear in both upcoming releases.
To date, the actor has had a ton of fun with his, “I can neither confirm or deny” jokes.

Still, Jackman recently acknowledged that he made an earlier mistake about Marvel movies.
According to the Australian, he has learned never to say never again, just as Sean Connery did back in the day.

What Jackman actually learned is that everybody has a price for the Million Dollar Man.
If Disney is going to keep writing Jackman huuuuuge checks, why should he say no?

Ryan Reynolds isn’t -that- annoying, no matter what Justin Baldoni says.

Along those lines, another actor is also avoiding declarations about their presence in future Avengers movies.
All Benedict Cumberbatch will acknowledge this week is still more than he was saying last week.

The Doctor Strange actor knows when he will return to the MCU, which means it’s probably soon.
Marvel only has a handful of projects on the frontburner. So, guessing which one isn’t hard.

Cumberbatch appears likely to show up in one of Doctor Strange 3 or the next two Avengers films.
His showing up in more than one of them shouldn’t surprise any of us.

In other Marvel news, this video unexpectedly showed up on Marvel’s YouTube channel.
That’s Sir Ben Kingsley as Trevor Slattery, most recently seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Fists.

The minute-long video represents the latest viral marketing attempt for Wonder-Man.
Disney is also posting casting call-type announcements throughout Hollywood.

In case you don’t get the joke, Simon Williams is an actor who becomes Wonder-Man.
Slattery shows up in the story as well, and the thing the two of them have in common is simple.

Neither one of them has had much luck working in Hollywood until the Wonder-Man series arrives.
Finally, we found out the why behind The Punisher not showing up in Daredevil season two.

As many of you guessed, it’s the obvious reason. Disney will save that story for something else.
The Daredevil standalone special will conclude or at least advance his current character arc.
