Charles Xavier, Magneto, and Cyclops Return in New ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Trailer

As the countdown to Avengers: Doomsday continues, the third teaser trailer for the multiversal adventure has hit theaters.

While the first two Doomsday teasers focused on returning Avengers Steve Rogers and Thor, the third clip turns its attention to the Fox X-Men.

Previously, Marvel confirmed that numerous mutants from the 2000s X-Men franchise will be suiting up for Doomsday, including Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen), Cyclops (James Marsden), Mystique (Rebecca Romijn), Kelsey Grammer (Beast), and Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming). How the X-Men come into contact with the Avengers, however, remains to be seen.

Now, we have our first glimpse at the iconic heroes in Doomsday.

The New Trailer

The new Avengers: Doomsday trailer begins inside the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters.

“Death comes for us all. It’s all I know for sure. The question isn’t, ‘Are you prepared to die?’ The question is, ‘Who would you be when you close your eyes?'” Magneto says in the voice-over.

After Professor Xavier’s wheelchair is shown, the trailer moves to a chessboard with a piece telepathically moving in the air.

Then, Charles and Magneto embrace each other. It is clear that the two old friends are fighting on the same side this time.

This is quickly followed by a quick scene of Cyclops unleashing an Optic Blast (recalling the iconic opening of X-Men: The Animated Series) amid destruction caused by a Sentinel.

“The X-Men will return in ‘Avengers: Doomsday,'” the trailer teases at its conclusion.
