Simu Liu Gives an Interesting ‘Shang-Chi 2’ Update
When Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings earned $450 million at the global box office during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, it appeared that Simu Liu was poised to become Marvel’s next breakout star.
Praised by both critics and audiences, the Shang-Chi franchise was positioned as a key pillar of Marvel’s post-Endgame future.

In the years since, however, Liu’s titular hero has been largely absent from the broader Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

While Liu has been adamant that Shang-Chi 2 is still in the works, and the hero will return in Avengers: Doomsday, updates on the film have been few and far between.

“There’s not a whole lot to tease right now, other than I think, I sound like a broken record at this point, but it is happening,” Liu said.
Shang Chi Will Return For ‘Secret Wars’
While Liu clearly did not have much to share about his second Shang-Chi solo adventure, he did confirm that Shang-Chi will appear in Secret Wars.

“But I think the more immediate tease is of course, is [Avengers:] Doomsday,” he added. “Yeah, which comes out next year, which I was lucky enough to be a part of and will be lucky enough to be a part of its successor in Secret Wars.”
