MarvelBlog News for January 11th, 2026
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has added another trailer to the fold.
Obviously, this one’s for Avengers: Doomsday as well. So, buckle up, folks!

We’re ready to move past the excitement of The Mutants and discuss a panther.
This is another spoiler-intensive week for MarvelBlog News.
What You Now Know

Okay, before I discuss the spoilers, let’s circle back to last week.
Marvel has officially released the third trailer for Avengers: Doomsday. You can watch it here:
As I discussed in detail last week, the original (cinematic) X-Men have arrived in the MCU!

As of this week, we also have the fourth trailer, which I’ll evaluate in the next section.
I’m not going to tie all the teasers together until next week or possibly the week after that.

What I will say is that the connective tissue has already emerged, and we have pieces of the story.
The X-Men trailer advances the plot by introducing action elements for the first time.

Previously, we had Captain America finding peace in the joys of parenthood.
Next, Thor joined him in praying to his father, Odin, for a peaceful upbringing for his daughter.

Now, we get to the fireworks factory, with Charles Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters getting obliterated.
The trailer still offers a melancholy, almost pensive tone, with Magneto being philosophical.

This old man is understandably pondering the afterlife as he’s faced with an unwinnable battle.
Cyclops, who has never been known for his intellect, is trying to blast his way out of trouble instead.

As mentioned last week, we clearly see a Sentinel’s boot marching toward destruction.
In this case, the destruction involves the X-Men’s school, which makes me wonder how many times in the history of the X-Men has a villain destroyed this school?

Marvel
It’s gotta be in the hundreds by this point, doesn’t it? Why are contractors still taking this gig?
Also, shouldn’t Charles Xavier maybe consider putting it underground or getting turrets or something?

Anyway, we can now see the danger, as it has come to the X-Men’s front door.
HERE THERE BE SPOILERS (YET AGAIN)

Now is when I warn you to quit reading unless you have watched the fourth trailer.
That one debuted in theaters on Thursday in front of Avatar: Fire & Ash.

Given the shrinking box office totals for this film, I’m not sure how many of you that could possibly be.
So, those of you who don’t want to be spoiled should GTFO and come back next week when there’s an online video.

Here’s your final warning before I start spoilers. Please go away if you want to be surprised!
Okay, are you still here? Good. How has your week been? Honestly, mine could have been better.

My wife is a huge Illinois State fan, and so we went to the national championship game.
Then, Montana State ripped my wife’s heart out by scoring a TD on 4th and 10 in overtime.

Let’s just say that the mood changed in the Illinois State section of the crowd at that moment.
Anyway, let’s talk about the fourth trailer! It’s exactly as I predicted three weeks ago.

As expected, Marvel didn’t unveil Doctor Doom, at least not his face, yet. I reiterate that the studio is saving that.
We’re currently in the early stages of a MASSIVE marketing campaign.

Since the film is still 11 months from its release date, why rush? That’s the philosophy here.
Marvel will presumably use the NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl to reveal Victor Von Doom.

Then, the studio can reinforce that during March Madness, the NBA and NHL playoffs and so forth.
By the time December rolls around, we may all be sick of Avengers: Doomsday advertising.

Right now, we’re ravenous beasts who cannot get enough, though.
Marvel kinda took advantage of us and this fact with the latest trailer, too.
About the Fourth Trailer

This one shows Shuri, the current Black Panther, and her…king?!
Yes, M’Baku appears and describes himself as the King of Wakanda.

Photo: Vanity Fair
In case you’ve forgotten, Shuri de facto ceded the throne at the end of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
For the second time, M’Baku appeared to challenge for it, and he appears to have been victorious.

Now, the two of them act as the representatives of their people as they meet strangers.
One of these unknown guests is…Ben Grimm. Yes, the Fantastic Four arrive at Wakanda.

Dot Esports
They’re not alone, either. We see the back of Doctor Doom and hear his voice.
All the character says is, “Hello, Shuri.” Still, we officially have our first line from Robert Downey Jr. as Doom.

Oh, and Namor briefly appears in this clip as well, which seems significant.
Remember that the character has a long history with the Fantastic Four and especially Sue Storm.

Also, it’s interesting that the Fantastic Four appear to be working with Doom.
For her part, Shuri recites the following lines of dialogue:

Photo: Wired
“I’ve lost everyone that matters to me. A king has his duties, to prepare our people, for the afterlife. I have mine.”
That strikes me as the perfect depiction of her in the aftermath of Wakanda Forever.

This character loved her brother dearly and leaned heavily on her mother.
Now, she has neither and also bears all the responsibilities that come with being the Black Panther.
Oh, By the Way…

Importantly, I’ll add that we may yet get two or possibly even three of these teasers.
That’s a bit unexpected, but recent reports strongly suggest the likelihood of this scenario.

So, check back next week for the next slow drip leak of Avengers: Doomsday!
