‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Will Not Feature Marvel’s Big Screen Heroes
by Justin Hermes ·
As fans prepare to return to the crime-ridden streets of New York City for Daredevil: Born Again, speculation has run rampant about what Marvel heroes could join Charlie Cox’s titular hero for his showdown with Kingpin.
At the conclusion of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, Matt Murdock returned to Hell’s Kitchen and proclaimed that he needed an army to help free New York from Kingpin’s grasp.

With many heroes, such as Swordsman and (briefly) Punisher, locked up by Kingpin’s anti-vigilante efforts, it seemed clear that Daredevil would need some outside help.
Enter Jessica Jones
Subsequently, we have learned that Krysten Ritter will suit up as Jessica Jones for the next season of Daredevil.
Nevertheless, fans have held out hope that other MCU heroes, such as Spider-Man or Hawkeye, could show up.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like that will be the case.
Will Other Heroes Suit Up?
During a recent interview with SFX Magazine (via Deadline), Daredevil: Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane was asked whether any of the MCU’s movie heroes would show up in his series.

“I’d be into it, because I dig the comics!” he said. “But no… That’s been kind of a fun and challenging thing.”
As Charlie Cox has portrayed Matt Murdock in the Spider-Man franchise, and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher is set to appear in Brand New Day, there had been hope that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker would swing into action in Daredevil: Born Again.

According to Scardapane, while Daredevil: Born Again is set in the broader MCU, the series will continue to operate in its own corner.
“We know there’s that huge world out there of the MCU. This corner of it has crossovers. We’ve seen Daredevil in other shows, there are other characters that are going to be popping up in movies and stuff, and that all goes into the larger MCU of it all,” he said.

“The joke we make is, ‘Oh, those guys are uptown – we’re downtown!’ We kind of have a pocket that’s in this world of Hell’s Kitchen, in this world of New York. I always think that maybe these characters take little vacations into the larger world, but the story that we’re focusing on is really granular.”
