We suspect that when it comes to our Marvel Blog True Believers, we’re preaching to the choir when we say that reading is fundamental (the dialogue is an important part of a comic, after all). However, some young readers have a harder time getting into books than others, in fact, this reporter didn’t learn to read until she was 8-years-old! Enter World of Reading: This Is Shang-Chi, a book that’s designed to help reluctant readers embrace the power of reading!

This Is Shang-Chi is the latest entry in the World of Reading series from Disney Books and ! These books give reluctant readers extra encouragement to explore the printed page by revealing the secret history of the mightiest heroes in the Marvel Universe.

When it arrives on May 11th, 2021, This Is Shang-Chi will join books like This Is Captain Marvel, This Is Miles Morales, and This Is Black Panther in helping young readers enjoy the power of the page!

In addition to telling the origin stories of everyone’s favorite Marvel superheroes, these books each also include stickers (in case a young reader needs any extra incentivization)!
This Is Shang-Chi
Shang-Chi is a superhero who is played by Simu Liu in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Although you may not have heard of him yet, you will be hearing a lot more about him soon!
For one thing, he’ll be arriving on the big screen later this year, and his explosive first trailer will leave your jaw on the floor.
