Dave Bautista Slashes His Way to KNIVES OUT 2
In an article posted by The Hollywood Reporter, it was revealed that none other than on-and-off-screen superhero Dave Bautista will be joining the cast of Knives Out 2.
Knives Out Now
The first movie in the Knives Out trilogy was released in 2019, and starred Daniel Craig as the singular detective Benoit Blanc, and featured an ensemble cast that included none other than the original Captain America of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans himself!
The original film also had show-stopping performances by Ana de Armas (who has yet to appear in the MCU, but hey, she’d be spectacular), as well as the late Christopher Plummer, who died in his home in February 2021.
According to the article from THR, Craig will be reprising the role of Blanc for the second film, with Bautista co-starring in an unknown role.
Recently, Bautista remarked that he felt that Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3 would be his last time portraying the character of Drax the Destroyer on-screen in the MCU. While that would be disappointing, it’s hard to get too upset at that development if it means Bautista is getting a chance to get more involved with unique, interesting stories like the Knives Out trilogy!
Two Knives
Little is known about the plot of Knives Out 2, but it begins filming this summer in Greece, and you can bet that Detective Blanc will be ready to hold the suspects’ feet to the fire once again… and we’re hoping that means that more mean, rich jerks get what’s coming to them!
The second and third movies in the Knives Out trilogy, which is written and directed by Rian Johnson (Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi), will be released for streaming on Netflix, the result of a deal that involved a sum of money totaling $469 million (how’s that for walking around money, Mr. Stark?).
