Disney+ She-Hulk May Introduce Skaar (Hulk’s Son)
Marvel Studios search for the family of Hulk continues. According to an exclusive report from The Direct, Hulk’s son, Skaar, will be making his live-action debut in the Marvel Studios’ She-Hulk series on Disney+.
She-Hulk Series
Marvel’s She-Hulk series is being presented as a half-hour legal comedy in which fans will get to see Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany) suit-up as She-Hulk and Bruce Banner (Mark Ruffalo) suit-up as Smart Hulk.
In addition to Marvel newcomer Maslany and Marvel Cinematic Universe veteran Ruffalo, Marvel has also cast Hamilton star Renée Elise Goldsberry in an undisclosed role, as well as Tim Roth as the Abomination and Jameela Jamil as Titania.
There are also rumors of Liv Tyler returning as Betty Ross, a role she first played in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.
Bruce Banner’s son from Sakaar – aptly names Skaar – may also be arriving during one of the episodes in She-Hulk, as well. According to ComicBook.com, “the character’s involvement hasn’t be confirmed by Disney or Marvel Studios, and there’s no actor currently attached to the role – at least on a public-facing basis,” but we can still hope can’t we?
Who Is Skaar?
Skaar was first introduced in What If? Plant Hulk #1 by Greg Pak, Leonard Kirk, Moose Baumann, and more as Hulk’s child, which lead to the character’s first full appearance in regular continuity in 2007’s World War Hulk #5.
In Marvel Comics, Skaar is the son of Bruce Banner and the former queen of Sakaar, and thus, he ages much quicker than humans do, something we learn in Marvel’s wildly popular Planet Hulk and World War Hulk storylines, the two tales that were partially adapted for Thor: Ragnarok in 2017.
If She-Hulk introduces Skaar to the MCU, it opens up a whole new universe of characters for the show to explore, including Skaar’s twin brother, Hiro-Kala, who also rose from the ashes of Sakaar to be a savior for their planet’s war-torn populace.
How Did Skaar Join the MCU?
Looking at the comics, it’s likely that Hulk’s son was conceived between when Hulk crash landed on Sakaar in Age of Ultron and when he escaped in Thor: Ragnarok. Although we don’t know what Hulk was up to before Thor, Loki, and Valkyrie saved him, a secret son certainly isn’t outside the realm of possibility.
Considering that Skaar ages much quicker than humans, there’s been plenty of time for him to grow up and pay his old man a visit in the MCU. Will Jennifer Walters have to use her lawyer skills to help her cousin out? What other Hulks do you want to see smash onto the screen in the Disney+ shows?
