The DARKHOLD Finally Arrives at Marvel Comics
This autumn, the long wait for the Darkhold will finally be complete! That’s because The Darkhold Alpha #1 by Steve Orlando and Cian Tormey (plus the rest of the currently unannounced creative team) is finally arriving at your local comic shop beginning on September 22nd, 2021.

Back then, The Darkhold Alpha #1 was meant to arrive in June 2020. However, because of industry-wide disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the issue was indefinitely delayed.
Fortunately, that delay has finally come to an end, and in September 2021, we’ll finally be getting our hands on The Darkhold Alpha #1! According to Orlando, “I am so excited for you all to get on board with this journey that pushes Wanda to the limit, as five of Marvel’s biggest heroes must overcome the nightmares held by the Darkhold’s pages, to stand with Wanda against one of her oldest enemies.”

Why We’re So Excited
First and foremost, having Orlando on this book is exciting as all get-out. In books like Curse of the Man-Thing by Orlando, Francesco Mobili, Guru Efx, and Clayton Cowles, Orlando has shown what a strong handle he has on witchcraft, so we just know that he is going to nail this script!

Then, thanks to work on books like Secrets of Sinister House, you just know that Tormey is going to conjure some amazing art! But if that’s not enough to convince you, check out some of the artist’s amazing work in another Marvel comic about old books, titled “A Rose for Victor” from War of the Realms: War Scrolls #3 by Christopher Cantwell, Tormey, and Joe Sabino.

Plus, since this book was announced, the connection between the Scarlet Witch and the grimoire known as the Darkhold has only gotten stronger – everyone knows what I’m talking about, right?
On top of Scarlet Witch making an appearance, this story also features Doctor Doom, so you know that the stakes couldn’t be higher.
