REVIEW: Avengers Campus (and MORE) in W.E.B. OF SPIDER-MAN #2
In W.E.B. of Spider-Man #2 by Kevin Shinick, Alberto Jimenez Alburquerque, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Travis Lanham, with a main cover by the all-star duo Gurihiru, the adventure at Avengers Campus continues! After introducing the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.) in issue one, a bunch of villainous holograms begin threatening and menacing our team of young heroes!

Fortunately, Spider-Man, Squirrel-Girl, Tippy Toe, Moon Girl, Onome, Harley Keener (from Iron Man 3, Marvel Blog True Believers), and an army of Spider-Bots are standing against the holograms!

Green Goblin Galore
W.E.B. of Spider-Man #2 pits Peter Parker and his friends against one of his greatest enemies: the Green Goblin! Gobby is always a problem for Spidey, so it makes sense that he’s the villain in this issue.
All fear the Holo-Gobby! But don’t worry, we already know that at Avengers Campus there’s a room full of W.E.B. scientists at the ready to ensure the Green Goblin can’t mess with the rest of us!

A few other things I liked about this issue is the way that character faces are used alongside the word balloons to show which character is speaking, even if they’re off-panel, and the joke that Tippy Toe makes about eating NYC-style pizza while she and Doreen are searching the NYC Subway system for Gobby.

Finally, and no spoilers about this detail so that you can enjoy the smashing surprise for yourself, but there’s an outstanding character cameo in this issue! Hidden behind a page-turn, I cheered out loud when this highly-anticipated appearance took place (you can’t miss it, Marvel Blog True Believers).

W.E.B. of Spider-Man #3 SPOILERS!
We don’t want to spoil too much for you, but the tease for the cover of the next issue of this series is too good to pass up! Not only does it feature more of that delicious Gurihiru goodness, it also includes the Eiffel Tower. Does this mean that Spider-Man will be swinging from Avengers Campus in Southern California all the way to the Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in Paris, France?
