Christopher Judge to Voice T’Challa in Marvel’s Avengers
In an article posted on PC Gamer on Thursday, July 15th, 2021, it was revealed that Christopher Judge will voice T’Challa, A.K.A. Black Panther, in the Marvel’s Avengers: War for Wakanda expansion for the Marvel’s Avengers video game.
An Impressive Resume
The role of T’Challa will not be the first time Judge has played a Marvel character. In the animated series X-Men: Evolution, which ran for four seasons, from 2000 through 2003, on Kids’ WB, Judge played Magneto.

However, Judge is best known for voicing Kratos. In 2018, Judge took over the role of Kratos in the God of War series from Terrence C. Carson.
Judge performed both the voice acting and the motion capture for Kratos. Not only did Judge appear in the 2018 God of War game as the character, he reprised the role for an appearance in Fortnite, and for an upcoming sequel.
War for Wakanda
T’Challa will be added to Marvel’s Avengers thanks to the upcoming War for Wakanda Downloadable Content, which will be released in August 2021.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Judge explained that he initially turned down the role.

According to Judge, he was concerned that it was too soon after Chadwick Boseman’s death to consider playing the role. Boseman died in August 2020 after a clandestine battle against colon cancer.

However, Judge says that he eventually relented and accepted the role, as his children and mother threatened to disown him if he did not play the part.
Judge told EW over Zoom that, “To be quite honest, I was fearful of being compared to what Chadwick had so wonderfully done. The only way I could really wrap my head around it was to not even attempt a voice match, to let my performance stand on its own. I put all that into it and hopefully people like it.”
Wakanda Forever
