The Hawkeye Rumor Round-Up!
In a post made to The Cosmic Circus blog on Tuesday, July 20th, 2021, Lizzie Hill summarized all of the current information and rumors surrounding Hawkeye. If you haven’t had a chance to see Black Widow yet and you want to avoid spoilers, Marvel Blog True Believers, you’ll want to leave this page now!
Here’s What We Know
The first question on everyone’s minds must be: will Yelena Belova (played by the scene-stealing Florence Pugh) be appearing on Hawkeye, the upcoming Disney+ Marvel Cinematic Universe series?
1. Kevin Feige hinted that fans will get more of Yelena’s backstory.
Marvel Studios Head Boss-in-Charge Kevin Feige may have dropped a hint during Monday night’s Black Widow watch party:

2. Val’s cameo in Black Widow.
Given the mid-credits sequence in Black Widow, in which Val (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) approaches a distraught Yelena and offers her a job, makes it all the more likely Yelena will appear in Hawkeye.
3. Val’s already started gathering the Dark Avengers.
It’s the same offer we saw Val extend to U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell) in the final moments of Captain America and the Winter Soldier.
However, Yelena also gets a picture of Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner). Will U.S. Agent and Yelena go on a mission together to track down Clint?
Essentially, Val is putting together a team, like some kind of evil Nick Fury, and with U.S. Agent and Yelena’s Black Widow both on the roster, that team is starting to look an awful lot like the Dark Avengers.
4. Yelena will play a significant in Hawkeye.
According to Hill, Yelena will appear in more than one episode of Hawkeye, suggesting she will have an involved storyline. No word yet on what Clint did to make everyone so mad at him – oh, wait, I just remembered Avengers: Endgame. Never mind! Good luck, Clint!
Hawkeye Details
The article also includes some speculation about the arrival of Hawkeye, the live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series that will co-star Renner, Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop, A.K.A. “the real Hawkeye,” and Jolt the Golden Retriever as Lucky, A.K.A. “Pizza Dog.”
According to Hill’s article, the show will be six episodes long (not eight, as reported on some sites). Furthermore, Hill speculates that Charles Murphy over at Murphy’s Multiverse is correct in his assumption that Hawkeye will arrive for streaming on Disney+ in November 2021.
