Andy Le Flips on the Shang-Chi Red Carpet!
Did you get a chance to stream the world premiere of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings last night? The Hollywood event featured a return to the Red Carpet for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Black Widow’s arrival was greeted with a special fan event rather than a full premiere event due to COVID-19 safety concerns at the time. However, Shang-Chi was able to get the full world premiere treatment, with actor Andy Le causing quite a stir with a series of spontaneous back flips!
Death Dealer
If you don’t recognize Le from the trailers, there’s a very good reason for that: he plays Death Dealer, an incredibly skilled assassin who works for the Ten Rings organization. Throughout the movie, this character wears a concealing mask and hood, with only his eyes visible, so even the most careful viewers of the trailer might not be able to identify him right away!
The actor and martial arts star revealed that he was the person beneath the mask on his personal Instagram account (see above) in the weeks leading up to the world premiere, and last night, he literally flipped on the Red Carpet as he waited for the first screening of the newest Marvel Cinematic Universe movie to take place.
Awesome Fighting Actors
Le is trained as a martial artist, and he plays the role of Death Dealer throughout the film (rather than having a “more conventional” celebrity actor play the role in some scenes and bringing in a martial artist to do the stunts).
This was a strategy embraced throughout the casting for the movie (see also: Razorfist, played by Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu in every scene, not the just the brain-melting action sequences).
And watching the impressive spontaneous flips Le was executing on the Red Carpet, it’s easy to understand how his intense physical energy translated into an awesome performance as Death Dealer!
