About Last Night: WONG Steals Spider-Man 3 Trailer
In a tweet sent on Monday, August 23rd, 2021, the Spider-Man 3: No Way Home Twitter account finally released the official, HD trailer for the highly anticipated third movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man trilogy… featuring our hero, WONG!!!
While Marvel Blog and the rest of the internet has been set ablaze with discussion about Dr. Strange and Spidey himself, there’s a reason this one character in particular stole my attention, Marvel Blog True Believers… but first things first!!!
No Way Home
The trailer seems to confirm what we’ve suspected all along: the third movie in the MCU Spider-Man trilogy is heading into the multiverse!!!
First up, this trailer includes a pumpkin bomb, and a cackle that sounds a lot like Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin.
Then, we see Otto Octavius himself! Not just his robotic arms, but Alfred Molina, just as the actor himself foretold (in some pretty serious detail) early on in the Spidey saga.
Not appearing in this trailer are previously confirmed villains like Electro (Jamie Foxx) or the other two Spideys, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. However… and do not read the following part if you do not want spoilers…
Spider-Leak
This might not have been the way Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures wanted to release the trailer.
On Sunday night, footage of an unfinished trailer being watched on a cell phone surfaced (yes, seriously). This version of the trailer featured not just Tom Holland as Peter Parker, but Garfield and Maguire as well, seemingly confirming the rumors of a live-action Spider-Verse.
In addition, the trailer also seemingly confirmed that Foxx’s Electro would be returning to the big screen, but by now, the powers-that-be have scrubbed the Internet of most of the leaked images.
Wong Way
Meanwhile, the actor who plays Wong, Benedict Wong, is seen in the trailer warning Stephen not to cast the spell. At Marvel Blog, we’re starting to think it’s a good thing that Doctor Strange didn’t show up in Westview because he can’t he even handle affairs in his own house.
And Wong, who is always down to clown (as we say in my house), took to Twitter to register his outrage at Dr. Strange for messing up the multiverse:
I Told You So!!!!! @SpiderManMovie https://t.co/CljVNam5Sh

Recently, Wong was spotted at the Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings premiere in Hollywood – maybe that’s where he was heading with those suitcases!
Thwip Up the Trailer
How many times have you watched the trailer, Marvel Blog True Believers? Have you gone on the Marvel Unlimited app to read One More Day, the Spider-Man story that saw the wall crawler seeking out Strange’s help in order to hide his identity (but erasing his marriage to Mary Jane in the process)?
