REVIEW: SOLO Fans Must Read Star Wars #17
In Star Wars #17 by Charles Soule, Ramon Rosanas, Rachelle Rosenberg, and Clayton Cowles, with a main cover by Carlo Pagulayan, Jason Paz, and Rain Beredo, we get another chapter in the ongoing War of the Bounty Hunters Marvel Comics crossover event! However, while any fan of the 2018 movie Solo: A Star Wars Story will want to check out this event (for very specific reasons), this issue will particularly stand out to fans of that chapter in the Star Wars saga!
“The Chase”
This issue picks up right where this crossover event left off: Luke Skywalker entered the atmosphere of Jekara, where the Vermillion is parked for the Crimson Dawn-hosted auction of the carbonite-frozen Han Solo.
But as soon as Skywalker realized Darth Vader was ready and waiting for him… he kind of bailed out!
Remember, this is just after the events of The Empire Strikes Back, so Skywalker is still stinging from his hand-hacking defeat in his previous battle with Vader on Cloud City!
But my favorite part of this issue is the fact that it remembers the relationship between L3-37, the late droid played by Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Solo, and Lando. As viewers of Solo will recall, L3 was killed in the third act, but her processor was incorporated into the Millennium Falcon’s systems (making her one of the ship’s three brains).
Let’s all say it together:
L3-37, played by the

This issue not only remembers this fact, it also allows L3 to take part in the action in a way that we haven’t seen her do since Solo! Another great crossover element for this series.
